A kalimba\toy piano like sound obtained by stucking a piece of metallic string between the actual guitar strings (at the bridge), so having that typical short sustain; i've recorded using a di box and a samson co2 next to the guitar strings. Inspired by a youtube video by dan phelps.

Scraping a file against the strings of an electric guitar.

It's me and my friends, we play the flute, drum and stringed instrument.

I build it in fl studio (32bits) with the soundfonts plugin (the soundfont used was "sgm")overdubs were done with a "strings" sample and the rest was just the pure instrument with eq and reverb. (it also includes a subtle piano and choir).

Oriental style mandolin music. Used for a japanese liked project. Recorded with an at4040 (mono).

Sound demo, played with modulation. You will hear every key. The registers (choires) are Viola and Violin. These voices create the string orchestra sound. A sound of swinging, best for animated scenes. Made with a violin and a zoom h4n.

This is a single guitar string plucked with a pick directly at the headstock, that means between the tuners and the nut. There the string is very short and tight, resulting in a high, almost piano-like tone. Also, since there is no sound box, the tone is rather quiet. I used this for a sampler and i liked the sound of it. This is the raw recording. If you want to use it in a sampler too, i recommend adding some eq, reverb and maybe some delay. It is not perfectly in tune though, the closest note is a#. You might tweak the tuning a little bit when using it in combination with other tuned instruments. My daughter made an instrument some years ago. She took a small cardboard box and fixed some rubberbands with scotch on it, and this is how it sounded. She called it spelatronics. It no longer exists, unfortunately. But it can be remade.
